Our scholarships empower the next generation of Kentucky farmers to excel in agriculture, education, and community leadership.

Eligibility Criteria

We are looking for dedicated individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the future of Kentucky agriculture. To be considered for a Kentucky YFA scholarship, applicants must meet the following core requirements.

Active Member of Ag

Applicants must be an active member of your local FFA chapter, collegiate FFA chapter or your parent must be active Kentucky Young Farmer Member.

Future in Ag

Applicant must be enrolling in a Kentucky college or technical school seeking a degree in Agriculture or an Agriculture related field.

Apply On Time

Applications must be complete by February 1st. Winners are selected in March and will receive $500.

Gather Documentation

Prepare your lists prior to starting the application. You will need to provide extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership roles, and agriculture/work experience.

Write Your Essay

A 250-300 word essay must be a part of your application. You can choose one of the following three topics:

-Describe in detail your most memorable farming experience.

-What does agriculture and farming mean to you and how do you plan to get there?

-Describe what segment of agriculture you are most passionate about and how you can impact/influence that industry.

Final Review & Submit

Double-check all requirements and submit by the February 1st deadline.
